Silk Lame’ is a fairly new introduction by Rainbow Galleries. It’s a blend of 72% silk, 18 % rayon and 10% metalized polyester. There are two weights, one for 18 count canvas and another for 13 count canvas.
I really enjoy using it—it gives a subtle sparkle and is so easy to stitch with. I have found that the thread for 18 count covers color-on-color on 13 or 14 count canvas—the 13 count version can be heavy. We carry all the colors for 18 count in stock and can order the 13 count colors. Add this thread to your stash and you’ll want all of them.

Silk Lame is a great thread. I am happy to hear you are stocking it. I have used it a lot both in my own canvases and when I teach in shops. All my students immediately fall in love with it.
It is great for stem/outline both in a single line and packed. It simply seems to butter up against the last row of stitches giving it a nice smooth look.
I have also used it to do split stitch.
With the metallic thread twisted into the strand, I also find it is a very forgiving thread. Because it is perfect as is off the card for 18 count, you use it as is and if you are lazy about using a laying tool, this thread is for you.
The metallic seems to add that forgiving quality and I do recommend it for beginner stitchers because of that. Seasoned stitchers will love it too because it adapts to so many stitches.
You will love it! I hope they add many more colors.
