Happy Thanksgiving!

Daughter number one (she and her younger sister refer to themselves as the Heir and the Spare) will have this to hang in her home office. I followed her request for a black frame (no bling) and went with a black mat. True love is stitching a basketweave background….

Sandy’s Finishing Touches – 2010 edition

Now that the finishing deadlines are upon us, you might want to consider doing a small finishing project yourself. Here is a new edition of Sandy’s Finishing Touches to get you started.

The Ark finished!

I had so much fun stitching this piece from Kelly Clark and loved the results so much that I went for a custom acrylic box to display it.

My favorite frame shop did a fabulous job of creating the box. If your local shop can’t do this, try mine: The Framing Establishment in Jacksonville FL, 904-384-7724.

Hot Fix Applicator Special

I love using hot fix crystals to add bling to my needlepoint canvases.

We have a special offer on the hot fix applicator that I use. For $30 you get the applicator, a variety of tips and (here’s the special part) 1 gram of 4mm clear hot fix crystals. (Yes, one gram.) This size crystal covers 4 mesh on 18 count canvas–you can get right to work adding sparkle to your canvases. There’s even a “how-to” video available for your smart phone. How clever is that? You can order now on our website.

We have the Zecca trunk show in the house–wonderful, whimsical, colorful canvases that are unique and will be fun to stitch. And, this month Zecca canvases are all 20% off!

Pair a canvas with a Zecca accessory–magnets, laying tools and needle threaders and you have a stitching party all your own.

Coming up–Brenda Hart will be teaching Canvas Embellishment Friday 10/28 Saturday 10/29 and Sunday 10/30 and there are still a few seats left. Come learn from Brenda and have a great time.

Kelly Clark trunk show

Kelly Clark’s trunk show landed on Amelia Island with over 400 designs. The show is over but we can order any of these for you.

For Halloween fans, there are bats and hats and creepy creatures. For Christmas, candies and apples, Santa’s and socks and more. Then there are the tassels, the Please Come In signs and At Home With Kelly canvases.

And to top it off, Kelly is introducing a new canvas artist, Dan DiPaolo, whose whimsical designs are irresistible.

These are just a few of the choices. Many canvases are painted on 13 mesh and many come with stitch guides. And yes, we have the mermaid featured in Needlepoint Now in stock.

Pischke Pockets at the Bristly Thistle

Julie Pischke dropped in a few months ago and I fell for her daughter’s Pischke Pockets. These tote bags come with the completed, extremely well made large totes, the beautiful canvas, all the threads and instructions for finishing. The canvases are on 10 mesh and can be stitched and finished in time for the holidays. I bought the Seattle Market bag for myself–I will be very stylish at the Fernandina Beach Farmer’s Market. The canvas is 10×10 and the tote is 16×20.

We have some in stock and are happy to order the rest.
