Needlepoint footstool finishing

We have found a wonderful source for custom-made solid wood footstools–they are handcrafted in the US. You can choose from 5 different leg styles and a variety of woods, including solid cherry. The workmanship is superb and they will be made to fit your canvas. Send us an email or give us a call to discuss your project at 1-877-578-4824. Woof! needlepoint

The annual fundraiser for our local Humane Society is a fun event called “Howl at the Moon”. Our shop supports this no-kill facility by donating items for the silent auction. I was tired of juggling pet supplies for doggy day care or worse yet, putting them in a grocery bag with the dogs’ names in black marker. I designed this canvas for the tote and stitched it up in no time. The canvas is available in primary or tropical colors on 13 mesh for $25. The large zippered canvas tote available in black, pink, turquoise, navy, lime or red trim for $50. Woof! Indeed!

Personalized needlepoint dog collars

Those of you have been to our store may have met Gracie and Morgan, our two Portuguese Water Dogs. I love to change their “look” with different collars and leashes and these leather collars with an 18 mesh canvas insert are perfect for that. I chose the green for Morgan and the pink for Gracie. Now I’m working on my designs for them—they will, of course, have their names, but what fun to decorate the rest of the canvas.

The collars are available in black, pink, red, green, cream and silver. The sizes are 8”-10.5” (teensy), 10” to 12.5” (petite), 12.5” to 15” (medium), 15” to 18” (large) and 18”-20” (extra large). The collar size is measured from the tip of the buckle to the end of the collar. They are about 1″ wide and the canvase is about 1/2″ wide.

Best of all, once you have stitched the canvas, the collars are finished—no shipping, no waiting, no additional costs! Give us a call at 877-578-4824 or send us an email if you want us to order one for your pooch. They are also available on our website.

Jungle room needlepoint

I’m developing a theme for our “media room” (a too fancy name, in my estimation)—the Jungle Room. Not an Elvis jungle room, but one with lots of palm tree art and monkeys. I found Fred and Ginger here and I love them. Fred is very dapper with his top hat, tropical tux and cigar and Ginger is a doll in her party dress with long stemmed rose and champagne flute. I can just picture them as pillows with fabulous trim. Cheers!

Pears brick cover

Okay, I have a thing for needlepoint brick covers. I think this one is perfect for a kitchen or anywhere in a cottage. I could see the pears stitched in silk, the stems in linen and the background stitched with a decorative stitch—the better to finish and go on the next project!
