I had always dreaded using a blending filament—they snap while you are stitching with them or the entire skein explodes into a tangled mess when you cut it. Accentuate comes on a 50 meter spool and is a joy to use. The filament comes in 143 luscious colors, allowing you to turn any thread into a blended metallic. Or you can use it alone, multi-stranded, to get the effect of transparency, for example, in window panes. Use Accentuate and Trebizond to make your own metallic silk combinations. (posted by Michele)

I found these “Study Buddies” at the Dallas show. Although this model shows antique embroidery as the inset, they look terrific with a needlepoint canvas inset. The finishing can be done in 3 sizes—small for a young child, medium for a “tween” and large for adults. Send a fabric sample that you would like to match, and we can make a custom “Study Buddy” to go with any décor. See more finishing ideas on our finishing web page. (posted by Michele)

These golf bag ornaments are finished just like a golf bag and come with two golf clubs. The perfect gift for the golfer in your house. I stitched one in our daughter’s school colors to commemorate her 4 years on the team and her tenure as golf team captain. See more ornaments on our Christmas web page. (posted by Michele)

Japanese Jewels is a beautiful example of needlepoint based on an Oriental design. This colorful new canvas just arrived in the store from Dream House and would look great in a black lacquer box. (posted by Michele)

Needlepoint pillows are gorgeous, but they can be a large project. This boudoir pillow shows how you can take a smaller canvas and make a pillow from it. The canvas shown here is an eyeglass case! See more finishing ideas on our finishing web page. (posted by Michele)

The jars are of varying sizes and can be used for holding sweets, cotton balls, dog treats, paper clips or any little thing your heart desires. This is another project that can be stitched in a couple of evenings and is a good project to take along on your travels. See more on Julia’s web page. (posted by Michele)
